Grangers Down Repel 300 ml is a specialist wash-in reproofing treatment developed for garments and equipment containing natural or synthetic down insulation. It restores durable water repellency to the outer fabric and helps prevent moisture from reaching the insulating fill too easily. By protecting the filling from damp conditions, the treatment helps down maintain its warmth, loft and overall performance.

Down provides insulation by trapping warm air between its fine clusters. When the filling becomes wet or begins to clump together, its ability to retain warmth can decrease significantly. Maintaining the water-repellent finish of the garment’s outer material helps protect the insulation from light precipitation and moisture. Grangers Down Repel adds durable repellency without unnecessarily compromising breathability.

The product is suitable for natural down, synthetic down and hydrophobic down treatments. It can also be used on garments with technical outer fabrics and membranes, including GORE-TEX® and eVent®. Typical applications include insulated golf jackets, down jackets, gilets and other filled outdoor clothing. Always check the garment’s care label before use to ensure that it can be treated in a washing machine.

For the best results, the garment should be completely clean before Down Repel is applied. Dirt, perspiration, body oils and ordinary detergent residues may prevent the treatment from bonding evenly to the fabric. Grangers therefore recommends cleaning down garments with Grangers Down Wash before reproofing. Standard household detergents and fabric softeners can leave residues behind and are not recommended for delicate down insulation.

Shake the bottle before use. Use 100 ml, equal to two 50 ml capfuls, for one garment and add a further 50 ml for each additional item. Treating down garments separately is recommended for the most even and effective result. Pour the product directly into the washing machine’s detergent compartment and wash according to the instructions on the garment’s care label.

After treatment, allow the item to air-dry or use a tumble dryer if permitted by the care instructions. Down Repel is effective without mandatory heat activation. When tumble drying, dryer balls can help separate the down clusters, prevent clumping and restore loft. Check the garment regularly during drying and make sure that the entire filling is completely dry before storing it.

The formulation is PFC-free, has a neutral scent and is bluesign® approved. The bottle is made from 100% post-consumer recycled material. Grangers Down Repel therefore provides a targeted way to maintain the protection, breathability and useful life of valuable down-filled clothing.
